How to Stay Warm on Halloween!

Halloween has some chances for some AMAZING costumes!  But since it's so late in the year, it can be difficult to have costumes that actually looks cool!  You either end up having to wear a big coat over the costume you worked so hard on, or dress up as the brother from The Christmas Story.

Well I know a way that you can stay warm and still wear your favorite Spider-Man costume (costumes that show a lot of skin discluded.)

Here are our suggestions for keeping warm.  You can use one or a combination for MAXIMUM HEAT!

1. Thermal Underwear

Thermal clothes is normal used for staying warm while camping, but they're also great with keeping you warm under a costume.  

2. Under-armor/exercise cloths

Under-armor does a great job of wicking away sweat and keep you warm while working out.  So why wouldn't it work to wear it under your costume.

3. Layering

Layering clothes underneath your costume is always a great way to stay warm.

4. A Combination

If you're going to combine the tactics we suggest, put on your under armor first to wick away sweat, than the thermal clothes, (with as many layers as to make you at ULTIMATE WARMTH) and than put on your costume!  And there you go!  A nice warm costume without risking losing the accuracy and look of your amazing costume!  Don't forget to stay awesome Kosplayers and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Top 5 Ways to Upgrade Your Tabletop RPG Campaign

At G3 Cosplay Experience, we strive to give customers an integrated experience into their favorite franchises!   But there's also a way we wish to activate the imagination and send our customers to their own world.  Giving them choices and experiences the could never dream of.  That room is called the Castle!  In this room there is a plethora of possibilities with customization all based around table-top role playing games, such as Pathfinder, and Dungeons and Dragons!  But what if you can't make it to our facility one week or you live to far away but still want to have your game be both easy to navigate and to have that same immersive feel?  Well here's our five tips to upgrade your table-top rpg campaign!

1.  Effect/Spell Cards

When it comes to these games, spells are one of the most fun parts to play.  Creating your own spin on one of the spells is so fun, but the affects are really hard to remember, and a pain to look up.  When you have spell cards, having the spells affects and uses makes it so much easier to use.

2. Dungeon Tiles

Dungeon tiles are a great way to immerse your party in a game.  Allowing your players to see exactly how the dungeon is laid out in your mind.  They're great for immersion and just down right fun!

3. Terrain

To compliment these tiles, terrain allows for the players to see their surrounding.  Allowing them to know where they can and can't move during combat and what they could use to add a bit of flair to their fighting. 


4. Dice Tower

Having your own custom dice allows you to express your characters personality, but having a self rolling dice tower makes things both more simple as well as gives another outlet to show your character/world.  Making a custom dice tower out of clay, foam core, or even card board, it's just fun to have.

5. Puzzles

Now this might be difficult to make and take a lot of creativity, but one of the things that can be the most immersively satisfying than watching your characters figure out a puzzle you created.

The Best Moments in Back to the Future

Leading up to Back to the Future day this weekend, we are naming our favorite moments in the Back to the Future movie series!

We don't need roads



An incredibly memorable moment at the end of the first movie, leaving a hint towards the sequel before it was even announced.  This part left the whole audience wanting more and an exciting transition into the sequel.

Georges Revenge



One of the best parts in the movie was watching George (Marty's dad) got his revenge on Biff.  It was so great watching the nerd pick himself up and face his bully.

Hover Board



This scene was a great addition to the franchise, giving a sense of wonder and excitement to the future as we watched Marty ride off on a hover board.

The Clock Strikes



A heroic and exciting end to the plot of the first movie.  Bringing everything to a close and watching as all of Marty and Doc's hard work payed off and Marty went back to his own time to find a better future.

Darth Vader



This part was just... beautiful... No explanation needed. (even if Marty mixed Star Wars and Star Trek)

Docs Return



After the beginning of the movie, watching as Doc passed away after such a short amount of time getting to know this lovable character.  It was a relief getting to see our favorite Doc was alright after getting shot.

How to Make Paint Look Like Metal

Armor, weapons, and everything in-between.  Getting the right metal look is one of the most difficult things in creating a beautiful cosplay piece.  So how do the professionals do it?  What is the thing that sets their armor apart from everyone elses.  That tactic is called dry brushing!  

Dry brushing is a painting technique that leaves a weathering affect on your armor.  We are excited and privileged to walk you through the steps it takes to bring your cosplay to the next level.

Step 1. 

Base

The first step is to choose what you're painting (obviously).  After that adding a layer of primer is always a good idea (though not always necessary), it allows for your paint to have an easier surface to stick to.

Step 2.

Base Layer

Next step is to choose what color you want your base to be.  Whether it be gold, silver, bronze, or perhaps your character chose to paint their metal armor.  Than in that case pick from any color of the rainbow, have fun with it.  You don't always have to go by script of the character.

Step 3.

Dry Brush

Now this is the point where most amateur cosplayers stop and call their costume finished.  However, if you want to up your game.  Take a paint brush (large for bigger parts of the armor and smaller for the details.  Feel it out) and black paint and dip your brush in it.  After that, wipe most of the paint off of your brush and rub it into the nooks and crevices of the piece, making it look dirty and warn.  This technique mirrors dirt and grime that has gotten into the armor with ware and tear.  Be sure to be light on the brush so the paint doesn't cake on the the piece.

Step 4

Gloss

Last step is to go over your piece with a layer of gloss Plastidip to finish it off.  It leaves the piece with a nice protective layer over the paint and a beautifully glossy look.

But what do you do if you decided to go with the colored look?  Well than instead of using the black to brush in the crevices of the armor, use the same technique with silver paint over the corners and edges of the armor.
